IGNITE URBAN Has Launched – Artist Registration Now Open

The IGNITE URBAN, the national online talent competition powered by Red Stripe, is now open for artist registrations at:  The contest for R&B, Rap, and Reggae artists launched today, February 6, in honor of Bob Marley’s birthday. The eight month long competition culminates in September in New York City, with a performance by the final 10 artists, during which the Grand Prize Winner will be announced. The winning artist will receive a record contract.

More than just a contest, Ignite Urban’s artist discovery platform helps artists take their careers to the next level. Throughout the challenges participating artists will receive mentoring from top music industry executives and artists, along with exposure to grow their fan bases.  Mentors announced to date include: producer and Grammy-winning songwriter Daryl Simmons,  Grammy nominated singer, songwriter and film and TV actress Angie Stone,  roots / reggae recording artist Ras Shiloh, and P-Funk band Midnight Star.

The Ignite A&R platform includes the patent pending “Spin Score,” a collaborative scoring equity index which qualitatively and quantitatively tracks various social and platform interactions and calculates a numerical score, providing real-time ranking of the Ignite Urban competitors.
